The Great Wall China travel

Our Story

Hi, this is Ning.

In 2019, I arrived in London, UK, where I serendipitously met my husband Albert in Hyde Park. We got married and settled down in London. As a cross-cultural couple, we share the same interests and a passion for “forge our own path”.

Over the past four years, I have immersed Albert and his family in Chinese culture through various aspects of our daily lives. I cook Chinese cuisine, celebrate Chinese festivals, and even wore a traditional Chinese qipao gown at our London wedding.

Finally, in April 2023, I had the opportunity to bring Albert, my in-laws, and Albert's buddies on a mind-blowing trip back to China. It was their first time visiting the country, and it had been four years since I last set foot there. Everything that was once familiar felt somewhat distant. I spent a month meticulously planning the journey before the trip, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. I wanted to show my previous life, highlighting what I considered essential sights and food experiences because China is so big, and there is so much to share.

Of course, planning a trip is not an easy task as it requires matching everyone's expectations of travel. As a former art student, I am particularly into traditional craftsmanship, so museums and experiencing Chinese traditions are essential for me. However, as computer programmers, Albert and his friends enjoy everything modern and high-tech. Naturally, there are also collisions between Eastern and Western cultures during our journey. For example, coffee in the morning is a must, and bubble tea in the afternoon and evening is not to be missed. However, in China, a country where tea culture thrives, coffee shops are not as ubiquitous as they are in London… Thankfully, our group still has some common ground – we all love Chinese food and appreciate natural landscapes. Our itinerary is designed to cater to everyone's preferences, and by the end of the trip, everyone's clothes have become a bit tight.

This journey also allowed me to experience China from a non-Chinese perspective. Together, we marvelled at the scenery and aspects of daily life that were once ordinary to me, while also navigating the challenges that non-Chinese residents face in China. Over the past four years, China has undergone significant changes, from transportation and payment methods to everyday life. Fortunately, I was well-prepared for the trip and quickly reconnected with my Chinese roots. With the advantage of language and my familiarity with Chinese cities, thanks to my love for travel and solo adventures across most of China before I left the country. However, in the end, we all believe that the challenges and unexpected moments encountered during our travels make our journey even more unique and unforgettable.

I believe that travel is more than just visiting famous landmarks and taking pretty pictures. It's about immersing yourself in the culture, connecting with the local people, and truly understanding what makes a place unique.

Having grown up in China, I have had the opportunity to experience its rich history, diverse traditions, and incredible landscapes firsthand. However, I understand that navigating through China can be overwhelming, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the language, customs, and logistics.

That's where I come in. I am committed to making your adventure both unforgettable and affordable. With my local insights, I will help you unlock the secrets of China, sharing tips and recommendations that ensure you get the most out of every moment. And let's not forget about the incredible culinary delights that await you! From savouring street food delicacies to indulging in regional specialities, I will guide you on a mouthwatering journey through the flavours of authentic Chinese cuisine.

You can certainly discover this mysterious country independently, knowing that everything has been arranged, while having the unwavering support of someone who knows this country by heart. You'll have the freedom to choose your own path, discovering hidden treasures and authentic local experiences along the way.

Let's embark on this journey together!

                                                                                                                                         -- Ning

Hi, I am Albert.

Born and raised in Poland and then living in London, I was fortunate to grow up in a typical European environment that exposed me to diverse cultures and perspectives. It was during the years I spent living in London that I truly realised the extent of cultural differences and the value of cross-cultural understanding.

One of my most transformative journeys, which was with my wife, took me to China, where I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the challenges one can face while travelling in a country with a rich history and distinct cultural practices. During my time in China, I not only visited renowned landmarks but also delved deep into the local culture, thanks to my beloved wife, Ning.

Now, equipped with a profound understanding of both European and Chinese cultures, I am eager to share my knowledge and experiences with fellow travellers. Whether you're planning your first trip to China or seeking guidance for your next adventure, don't hesitate to reach out and ask questions. My wife and I are here to offer valuable insights, practical tips, and recommendations that can enhance your travel experience and help you navigate the intricacies of Chinese culture.

Finally, Albert and Ning's family met each other on the beach in Qingdao
